The Bihar Government has invited online applications from all districts of the state to set up poultry farm. The Government has assured to extend financial help to the start up entrepreneurs. The application can be made by ST, SC and General category candidates for 10,000, 5,000 and 1,000 layer bird farm. The Government will offer 30 percent subsidy to General category candidates and 40 percent subsidy for SC and ST candidates.
Animal Husbandry Director, Vinod Kumar Gunjiyal said the applications for opening a poultry farm has been sought from all the districts of the state. He said for the 10,000 capacity layer farm 105 candidates are to be selected. The total expenditure in this will be around Rs 87 lakhs and for the 5000 farm the expense will be around 48.50 lakh. The subsidy given by the Government in this would be nearly Rs 19 lakh. Bihar procures egg from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. To augment egg production in the state the Government had made the provision of allocation in the year 2014-15.
