The recently held ‘Integrator Meet’ in Goa marked a significant milestone in the annual series of knowledge-sharing events. With the theme, “Preparing for Future Challenges in Integrated Poultry Production,” the event stood out as distinct in its approach and impact. Business leaders and management teams from over a hundred broiler producing companies came together, creating a strong platform for exchange and collaboration.
A Gathering Like No Other
The event was not just another meet; it was a convergence of business leaders, industry experts, and pioneers, all focused on navigating the evolving challenges of the poultry industry. The gathering took a new direction, emphasizing preparedness and collaboration to tackle the industry’s future obstacles head-on.
Learning from other Poultry Power Houses: A Global Perspective
As the global poultry industry faces similar challenges like disease outbreaks, rising feed costs, and the need for sustainable practices, both India and Brazil, the two major players in the poultry market, have been dealing with these issues in different ways. Brazil has taken innovative steps beyond traditional methods, such as improving biosecurity and using advanced technology in feed and hatchery management. These strategies have helped Brazil remain a top poultry producer and offer a new insight to enhance poultry production systems.
A Crowning Moment
The event attracted more than a hundred poultry integrators from across India and over thirty international delegates from countries such as Thailand, Nepal, Bangladesh, Egypt, Turkey, Brazil, the UK, and Germany, creating a diverse platform for innovative discussions. The global experts shared insights on Indian poultry industry challenges. The key presentations included:
- Davide Assirelli, the head of Global Hatchery Operations at Lohmann Breeders GmbH,,discussed hatchery management’s impact on economic performance and efficiency.
- I.R. Meno Thomas, Director at Zetadec and Assistant Professor at Wageningen University, focused on feed ingredient particle size and its effects on microbiome, gut health, and production.
- Claudio Oliveira Novack, a Brazilian expert in poultry health and nutrition, shared insights on the various phases and measures adopted by the Brazilian poultry industry, with special emphasis on biosecurity measures to reduce infectious challenges.
- Werner Krull highlighted the importance of cleaning and disinfection in modern biosecurity practices, emphasizing to adapt tools, equipment and monitoring devices.
The event also featured cultural programs, games, and informal interactions, with a special focus on the next generation of poultry producers, aligning with the motto, “a platform to exchange and generate new ideas.”

The wonderful culmination of the entire program saw participation of guests from different regions celebrating India’s 78th Independence Day. The cultural program on the evening of Day 2 showcased India’s rich heritage, while sports activities like cricket and volleyball were enjoyed on the final day of the event. From young members to the senior-most in the industry, everyone participated with great enthusiasm, creating a vibrant and patriotic atmosphere.
