TECHNICAL SEMINAR ORGANIZED BY ZEUS BIOTECH PRIVATE LIMITED AT HOTEL RADISSON, KATHMANDU, NEPAL ON 10TH MAY 2019
Zeus Biotech Private Limited, Mysore, a leading animal nutrition company organized a technical seminar on 10th May 2019 at Hotel Radisson, Kathmandu, Nepal. Venue was packed with more than 75 audiences represented by entrepreneurs, farmers, feed millers, consultants, doctors, professors and from the Ministry of Agriculture, Dept. of Livestock Services, Nepal Poultry Federation and Nepal Hatchery Udyog Sangh. The seminar was a grand success.

The main speakers in the seminar were Dr. J L Vegad, Visit Prof. (USA), FNAVS, FIAVP, a renowned Poultry Pathologist with more than 150 published papers and an eminent author of several books and Dr. Nrisingha Das, AGM-Technical of Zeus Biotech.

The seminar started with lighting the lamp by dignitaries, Dr. J L Vegad, Dr. Bimal Kumar Nirmal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Dr. Banshi Sharma, Director General, Department of Livestock Services and Mr. Tika Ram Pokharel, President, Nepal Hatchery Udyog Sangh followed by a welcome note by Mr. Jose Jinesh, Director-Marketing of Zeus Biotech. In a brief introduction about the company, Mr. Jose Jinesh stressed upon the company’s endeavour to improve the productivity of poultry farmers by providing innovative nutritional solutions to them.
Dr. J L Vegad gave an elaborate presentation on the topic, ‘RECENT DEVELOPMENTS AND UPDATES ON BIOSECURITY AT POULTRY BREEDER FARMS’. In his presentation he emphasized the need of maximum biosecurity at farms since no vaccine can impart full immunity. Low and highly pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI & HPAI), New castle disease (ND), IB, IBD, etc.,) being highly mutational virus, can pose serious threat unless such measures are taken. He touched upon the different threats likely to be caused by Mycoplasma and Marek’s disease in the time to come.
Dr. Nrisingha Das presented a topic ‘INNOVATIVE NUTRITIONAL CONCEPTS TO OVERCOME THE CHALLENGING CONDITIONS IN POULTRY FARMING’. He illustrated the concept of quasi-species theory of RNA virus behavior and mentioned the role of yeast proteinated selenium in attenuating them. He also spoke on the challenges of antimicrobial resistance through the breadth and length of his speech.
After the presentations, Dr. Bimal Kumar Nirmal, Dr. Banshi Sharma and Mr. Tika Ram Pokharel spoke about the issues in poultry industry and wish Zeus Biotech for all their success. Also, they expressed their gratitude towards Zeus Biotech for brining Dr. J L Vegad and arranging the seminar.
The Seminar ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Indrajit Roy, AGM- Sales of Zeus Biotech and Mr. Deepak Chandra Sen of Vetway International, Nepal (the distributor partner) followed by cocktail dinner.
