Young Entrepreneurs Revolutionizing India’s Poultry Industry with Innovation and Sustainability
As Poultry India extends its wings, the poultry sector has witnessed a momentous event as the second and third generations in farming, processing, retailing, equipment manufacturing, medicine, feed processing, genetics, and more came together for an unprecedented get-together on November 23 under the banner of Young Entrepreneurs of Poultry India (Yep!). The networking event was aimed at fostering collaboration among the new generations of poultry, building connections, sharing knowledge, igniting new ideas, strengthening bonds, and propelling the poultry sector into a vibrant and sustainable future.
Attendees had a chance to interact with like-minded individuals who are driving innovation and change in poultry farming, processing, and retailing.
At this exciting networking evening, a logo, YEP!, was unveiled. This iconic logo is designed to represent and unite the young entrepreneurs of poultry in India. This iconic logo reflects the younger generations in Poultry’s desire to stand up for growth, innovation, a modern forward-thinking approach, and a fresh perspective.
The young generation’s evening was blessed with industry’s well-known eminent personality and key note speaker, Mr. Kishore Kumar Hegde, CMD Life Line Feeds India Pvt. Ltd. In the annals of poultry business success, a few stories resonate as powerfully as that of Kishore Kumar Hegde, a self-made business tycoon who has carved an incredible mark on the poultry sector through sheer determination, innovation, and an unwavering work ethic.
His message to the youth was as clear as a crystal. As youth, we all have young blood, which makes us rush into decisions and take risks. However, he has advised to prepare for the crisis, brace for the downtime with a minimum of a 3-month buffer, and not be in a hurry to expand. The Genesis of Success is when we have a willingness to take calculated risks, navigate the complexities of business, identify the untouched areas, and be modest in our expansion. Resilience to face adversity, brace for setbacks, and industry downturns should not turn down one’s passion for business.
His words inspired the next generation to dream big, work hard, embrace the family legacy of business, be under the guidance of our life mentor, and steer our business to new horizons.
The young generation entering family business often brings with them a set of doubts and uncertainties, feeling doubt and waiting for control. Addressing such issues, he detailed how we can seek mentorship, undergo personal risk tolerance, gain experience, and enjoy the free time that our life mentor is giving us.
During this event, Eurasian delegations made their way to the poultry sector in India. The delegation, represented by Mr. Sergey Shabaev, President of the Eurasian Association of Poultry Farmers, showed interest in seeing India as a prospective supplier to the Eurasian Poultry Association, which is an umbrella organisation for layer, breeder, broiler farmers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.
The main objective of their visit to Poultry India 2023 is to form new trade channels for the entire poultry industry, including farm equipment, processing plants, genetics, pharma, information technology, feed technology, hatcheries, etc.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Mr. Sergey Shabaev, President of the Eurasian Association of Poultry Farmers; Mr. Uday Singh, President of the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association; and Mr. Ram Reddy, Member of the Exhibition Advisory Committee.
As a part of the event, the second and third generations entering into business were introduced. The new entrants were so diverse in their education and experiences.
