World Egg Day
‘World Egg Day 2023’ was celebrated by Department of Poultry Science, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, DUVASU, Mathura on 13th October, 2023. On this occasion, a speech competition on ‘Eggs for a healthy future’ and poster making competition on ‘Debunking myths related to eggs’ was organized by Department of Poultry Science for the undergraduate and post graduate students. It was attended by faculty and students of the college.
The winners of the competition were awarded prizes. Dr. Ambika Sharma, Dr. Meena Goswami and Dr. Avneesh Kumar were the jury members for speech competition and Dr. Rashmi Singh, Dr. Gulshan Kumar and Dr. Parul were the jury members for poster making competition. Dr.P.K.Shukla, Dean, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, DUVASU, Mathura was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He stressed the importance of eggs as a source of nutrients in midday meal schemes and the strength of poultry products to boost immunity. A short video clip titled ‘Debunking myths related to eggs’ prepared by P.G. student of the department Dr. Pruthvi S. Gulhane was displayed to the audience.
Thereafter, a cake cutting ceremony was done on the occasion of World Egg day. The post graduate students of the department, Dr. Pruthvi S. Gulhane and Dr. Mohini Sharma assisted in the successful organization of the program. Dr. Amitav Bhattacharyya, Associate Professor, Poultry Science designed and coordinated the program along with his departmental colleagues. Dr. Manish Kumar Singh, Poultry Farm Manager proposed the vote of thanks.
