VETS IN POULTRY (VIP) Organises 5TH Annual General Meeting

On Saturday, September 30, 2023, the 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Vets in Poultry (VIP) was held at the Hotel Express Inn in Nashik. The event’s overarching theme was “Navigating the Dynamic Landscape of the Poultry Sector.” Over 175 lifetime VIP members from various parts of India attended the event.

After achieving quorum, Dr. Ajay Deshpande presided over the AGM. He delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the previous event’s success in Hyderabad and emphasizing the industry’s expectation of VIP for viable solutions to pertinent issues. Dr. Deshpande also addressed constructive concerns raised by lifetime members and emphasized the importance of inclusivity across all industries. He concluded by emphasizing that everyone involved would benefit from a collaborative effort to improve the industry.

Dr. Santosh Ire, Secretary, VIP, presented the minutes of the 4th AGM and proposed new resolutions for consideration with President Dr. Ajay Deshpande’s approval. All resolutions were seconded and passed by lifetime members, making them binding on all. VIP Treasurer Dr. Prasad Kulkarni presented the audited financial report, which was shared and elucidated during the AGM and was later approved by the members. Dr. Santosh Ire concluded the AGM by thanking all lifetime members.

The second session was split into two sections. The first discussion, moderated by Dr. Mukund Kadam, focused on VIP expectations and the development of VIP future roadmaps. A notable highlight was the active participation of VIP members and the Management Committee.

The second part of the programme included a panel discussion with experts from various fields. Dr. C.R. Behl, Dr. Anil Phadke, Dr. Balasaheb Thete, Dr. Sushant Rai, Dr. D.B. Patil, Dr. Jeetendra Verma, Dr. Ravindranath Masali, Dr. Sunil Nadgowada, and Dr. Shree Waghole were among those on the panel. Dr. Shirish Nigam moderated this session, which was dynamic and interactive, with the audience asking insightful and pertinent questions that were thoroughly answered by the experts.

Following that, all of the experts were congratulated. Dr. Shirish Nigam was recognized for his election as President of INFAH, and Dr. Ajit Ranade was praised for his contribution to the new poultry department syllabus in all India veterinary universities.

This year, the lifetime achievement award was presented to Dr. Narkhede for his exceptional and unwavering dedication to the poultry farming community.

VIP extended its appreciation to sponsors and acknowledged new entrepreneurs among the lifetime members, offering them special encouragement and best wishes.

Dr. Abhyuday Salunkhe’s memory was honored. New lifetime members were welcomed by being given VIP badges.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Sunil Kalsakar. This was followed by an entertainment programme and dinner.

VIP’s Nashik team deserves special thanks for their meticulous organization and dedicated efforts. Dr. Rathod spearheaded the initiative, which was overseen by Drs. Anil Phadke and Uddhav Patil. Thank you to all of the committee members, the Task Force team, VIP members, participants, and supporters who helped make this event a success.
