IB Group “Inspiration Day” bonds academia and industry

 IB Group, the fastest growing poultry enterprise organized “Inspiration Day” that coincided with the birthday of the company Managing Director- Mr Bahadur Ali from June 21-23, 2019 at Hotel Raj Imperial, Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh.

The participants of the Inspiration Day seminar arrived on 21st June, 2019 and greeted with excellent hospitality from IB Group. On 22nd June, 2019 the Inspiration Day seminar began with the welcome address by Dr RK Jaiswal, who welcomed the dignitaries and the assembled audience. He briefly outlined the history of IB Group and its phenomenal rise to its present day status. He said besides the outstanding performance in the poultry business, IB Group has always shown great concern for its employees and commitment to corporate social responsibility. He said IB Group intently decided to initiate an endeavour that is phenomenal for the poultry industry and so the birthday of Mr Bahadur Ali was being organized to bring the academia and the industry together.

Mr Bob Dobbie, President International Business, Aviagen spoke at length about the successful performance of the Aviagen birds around the world. He specially mentioned the visible difference in terms of feed consumption, FCR, water intake, mortality livability of the birds specially between the period 2013-2018.

Dr Chinn How Cheong – International Livestock Consultant, spoke on “Changing and the Challenging times.” He said with the growing population world over, it has become mandatory for the food companies to augment their production and quality to meet the demands of the consumers. He said the market is flooded with scores of food companies but they can survive only if they follow the HACCP and GMP guidelines strictly. He said with each passing day stricter food guidelines are being framed due to new emerging diseases.

Since this seminar was an interface of the poultry industry and the academia, the MoUs were signed with three universities in the presence of the Chief Guest Shri Giriraj Singh, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairying:

Dr NP Dakshini Kar, Dean, Kamdhenu Veterinary University, Chhattisgarh signed the MoU.

Professor Dr Prayag Dutt Juyal, Vice Chancellor, Nana Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, signed the MoU.

Dr Ashish Motiram Paturkar, Vice-Chancellor of the Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, (MAFSU) Nagpur, signed the MoU.

Mr Paul Gittins, Advisor, Aviagen was felicitated for his 50 years of contribution to the global poultry industry.

Mr Santosh Pandey, MP from Rajnandgaon praised the phenomenal performance of IB Group in the past decade. He said the commitment of IB Group is exceptional in terms of its dedication to industry, consumers and society. He said this seminar will bring the poultry industry and the academia together. He said that he was proud of the IB Group and its vision that helped it achieve success.

Mr Bahadur Ali – MD, IB Group spoke at length on the rise of IB Group in the past two decades. He said by using the latest technical advancements we can make rapid progress in our business. He said that at present the IB Group is into the business of pets, poultry, fisheries and dairying. He said that IB Group is poised to become a leading global company in near future. He said we must always learn from the developed nations and expand our business performance with minimum financial inputs. He said when IB Group started the Soybean oil factory, the local farmers were convinced to take soybean farming seriously. He said at present IB Group employs five lakh people directly and indirectly.

Shri Giriraj Singh said Priminister Narendra Modi has created a separate ministry to double the income of the farmers which was previously under the Agriculture Ministry. He said that now by using the latest technology we can make rapid progress in the Animal Husbandry, fisheries and dairying sector. He said this endeavour will greatly improve our economy. He said this sector will extend and create job opportunities for the youth of this country. He said that there is great scope in this sector and we only need to change our mindset. He said he was proud of Mr Bahadur Ali who set up such a large business and generated employment for scores of people.

Mr OP Singh – MD, ABTL, greeted Mr Bahadur Ali and the university stalwarts and welcomed the assembled gathering. He said the academia has the knowledge and the educational expertise while the poultry industry has the resources. He said the industry –academia tie up will generate huge possibilities for the development of the industry. He said this interface of the industry and the academia will open the floodgates of diverse opportunities in times to come.

Dr Vishnu Sharma– Vice Chancellor, Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner had a great praise for the Inspiration Day and the coming together of the poultry industry with the academia by the signed MoUs.  He said he hoped that someday, his university too can sign the MoU with the IB Group.

Later the Question and Answer round was organized which was chaired by Dr. PK Shukla and Mr. Vijay Sardana. Both the experts responded to the questions posed by the audience successfully. The assembled guests were then invited to dinner and thus ended the second day of the seminar.

On 23rd June, 2019, a plenary session and felicitation for the scholars was successfully organized. The attendees were offered lunch before their departure on the last day of this Inspiration Day seminar.
