CPDO&TI OFFERS PROFESSIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMMES FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-20 WITH NEW THREE DAYS COURSES

Central Poultry Development Organisation and Training Institute located at Hessarghatta, Bangalore under Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries was established in 1972 with a vision of being a knowledge centre for poultry development in India and abroad. This organization is envisaged with a mandate of production and supply of rural chicken turkey poults, ducks, and varieties of both egg and meat type, across the country and service of feed industry in assessing quality issues of feed and feed ingredients.

The institute was established to cater to the training needs of the country and of other developing countries in poultry production and allied activities. This institute imparts advanced and specialized training to the technical officers of the Central and state government organizations, agricultural universities, veterinary universities, banks and insurance corporations, co operative sector, poultry and meat corporations and private sector poultry organizations of the country.

Under various sponsored schemes from Government of India like ITEC, SCAAP, TCS, COLOMBO PLAN, FAO, foreign officials from 57 countries have represented in the training at this premier institute.

Poultry industry in India, as a techno commercial industry, is contributing nearly 1.0 lakh crore to the GNP. India stands 4th and 3rd in chicken meat and egg producing country in the world respectively, with great contribution to exports as well.  CPDO&TI offers unique opportunity being located at Bangalore which is a hub of poultry activities and a true representation of poultry industry in India.

This institute has scheduled various professional training programmes for the academic year 2019-20. This year new short term courses of three days duration is offered on varied aspects of poultry production.  This will benefit of field staff working in poultry farms, hatcheries, feed mills and other areas of poultry farming. Nominations are invited from organizations to sponsor their staff for these programmes. Fully furnished accommodation at CPDO hostel at the campus will be provided to the trainee officers with dividend system for boarding.
